Sirolo
Nestled between the lush vegetation of Monte Conero and the crystal-clear waters of the Adriatic Sea, the magnificent medieval hamlet of Sirolo is known as the ‘Pearl of the Conero’: a magical place of art, nature and fine food, set in breathtaking scenery.
Unspoilt beaches, sheer cliffs, mysterious caves and white rocks covered in pine forests overlooking deep, clear water make Sirolo the perfect destination for those seeking unspoilt nature.
Enjoying a sunny and breezy climate, the picturesque town of Sirolo lies between the fish-rich sea and undulating hills planted with wheat, vines and olive trees, and is protected to the north by the green promontory of Mount Conero.
The symbol of Sirolo is the beautiful Due Sorelle (Two Sisters) beach, ranked among the ten most beautiful, evocative and uncontaminated in Italy, so called because of the twin rocks emerging from the water. With pure white pebbles, the beach features a combination of pebbles and rocks that jut out into the sea, creating a unique view..
The Conero
The Conero Regional Park is an unspoilt environment covering an area of 5,800 hectares, preserving the beauty of the northern coastline that stretches from Passetto to Trave, through the Bay of Portonovo and encompassing Mount Conero and the surrounding hills. It stretches to the south coast from Sirolo to Marcelli di Numana, ending at the Musone river plain.
The Conero Park is a rich environment that holds ancient testimonies of art, culture, history and traditions, authentic and precious pearls that deserve to be experienced by visitors.
To explore the natural wonders of the Conero Park, see the map of hiking trails that go through woods and pine forests. Paths weave through bushes of strawberry trees and broom, in the shade of majestic holm oaks and pines, on the hills overlooking the sea.
The extraordinary beauty of the landscape arises from the variety of the rocky coastline, forests, clearings, meadows, cultivated land and small beaches. This is the habitat of a number of typical Mediterranean plants. These extraordinarily diverse places offer a wide range of activities: sailing, surfing, windsurfing, kitesurfing, scuba diving to discover wrecks and the Conero seabed, horseback riding and trekking.
Lastly, you cannot miss a visit to the wine cellars on the ‘Strada del Rosso Conero’, where you can buy typical products of excellent quality such as oil, honey and wine. Some routes may be temporarily closed.
