SPORT AND FUN

For windsurfing enthusiasts, there are two main places on the Conero for ideal conditions: the Bay of Portonovo, where the Sirocco blows constantly at 14-15 knots and the Ostro can reach 20-25 knots, perfect for fun and slalom; and the picturesque Sassi Neri (black pebbles) beach in Sirolo, where the favourable Mistral blows constantly at 12-15 knots.
The prestigious European Blue Flag award, conferred by the FEE (Foundation For Environmental Education), was awarded to the municipalities of Sirolo and Numana for the quality of their services and crystal-clear waters. Along the picturesque coastline of the Conero promontory, well-equipped lidos alternate with natural bays accessible by sea or by footpaths. This stretch of coastline is a true paradise for sportspeople.
Noteworthy are the boat excursions offered by Traghettatori del Conero (the ferryboatmen), which organise days out to the Bay of the Two Sisters from Marcelli di Numana and Sirolo. They offer aperitifs and dinners on board, and detailed guided tours of the coast.
In the Conero Regional Park, with its network of 18 trails, you can go on relaxing walks, horseback rides or mountain biking, immersed in the nature of the typical Mediterranean vegetation that characterises the coastal and hillside area. Enjoy breathtaking views from the trails.
